Censorship Configuration

I’ve been setting up the web filtering for the company I work for. These are the things I think definitely need removing. Anyone else have a good argument against any of the others? This one is really gonna piss people off:

Digital Britain

Debating possibly one of the most important technological pieces of legislation for this country. busy huh?

Spot the Cock Up

[blockquote]An endless collection of production problems culled from the world of television that make you wonder “was anyone actually looking through the viewfinder on the camera when this was recorded?[/blockquote] This Weeks Caption: “I think the DVD you want is behind you, at least I think that’s what it is.” Please send your submissions to givemestrength@192.168.0.9

Question – Why is there no Flash support on the iPhone/iPad?

a) Steve Jobs considers Flash a “security risk” because it is buggy and is trying to protect his loyal worshippers. b) The hardware is not up to it. c) Apple is protecting its revenue stream – flash support would allow web based applications, games and video streaming, thus cutting into the profits of the iTunes store. Answer: C Simples! No. #364 in a list of things about the iPhone that annoys the hell out of me despite owning one and […]

I Used to Have a TIVO…

When it worked it was brilliant  – seemingly having almost […]

Oxford Architecture

There’s a lot of old stuff in Oxford – everywhere you wander you look up and there’s some great Gothic building towering and quite often looking, down upon you. There’s a lot of “history” going on, everything feels old, even the water tasted ancient, but perhaps that’s just the pipes.

Oxford Prison Life

The Malmaison in Oxford is a former prison now converted into a luxury hotel. The prison has occupied the site since medieval times and was only closed to inmates in the 80’s, although judging from some of the “guests” perhaps some of the “lifers” couldn’t be moved. That’s a joke by the way… The hotel comes highly recommended and has excellent sound proofing.

Fun with YouTube’s Audio Content ID System

Have you encountered this yet? If you regularly upload to YouTube using any copyrighted music you may have done. The amusing thing about my particular “infringement” is that the material I was uploading was actually on behalf of Freemantle Media – so I actually had the right to publish the material. Interestingly, when I tried to post a little video I made recently it was slightly less polite and stripped the music completely. Anyway, as ever someone on the Internet […]

Easter Eggs Must Die

Easter is almost over and it’s time to kill those pesky eggs off, otherwise they just sit around looking at you and making you nervous. I never trusted that one eyed fella anyway, I’m sure he was up to something..
